whats better to do stroke or bore?

im looking to go to a full 416 kit

I think it will be kinda hard to find someone to do a 416 stroker!

I have been wrong before though, once it was april 15th 1974

oh yeah i know it will but.. im just saying im getting it bored to a 416 not stroked.. but In the long run is strokeing better the boring? ( not for a 416 just in generally whats better)

lol thanks for clearing that up. I wanted to make a smart comment sooo bad but I was afraid you really wanted to get it stroked to a 416.

I think a stroke is more reliable per size. a 460 stroker is more reliable than a 460 bore a 500 stroker is more reliable that a 500cc bore.

I also think they provide more usable power, you can feel the power more. if that makes sense

Changing the stroke will change the kind of power your bike produces. A longer stroked motor will typically make more power in the lower rpm range, while the opposite is true of a shorter stroked motor. Reliability should not be a problem as long as the work is done right. You can go to a 440 with an 87mm (416) piston and a longer stroke. I've heard that this makes an awesome 440. By keeping the bore smaller, it would probably not heat up like a regular 89mm 440 kit.
