WOW, this place makes pismo seem like a sandbox.......Its nice waking up in the morning and everything is still dry. The road goin into the dunes kinda hammered everything on the trailer but after a few rides they were all pretty clean again........11 hr drive from the bay area though...I want to go back.

South edge of Death Valley. Take from SoCal take Hwy 15 towards Vegas. When you hit Baker exit and go west I believe.

I can post directions if you want.

We'll be there next week for Roostfest '04!!! (http://www.roostfest.com) Can't wait. Just got my Duncan FatBoy4 installed on my 400EX by one of Duncan's guys. Couldn't test ride it as the neighbors would be pissed......

I'll have to ride it up and down the street tomorrow.

Not sure about the 400EX making it up the dunes. I put the Duncan on my bike to make sure.

Dumont is my favorite place to ride in the sand. I just went on Saturday for the day. (it is 3 hours for me.) It was my dads first time and he wanted to test the new 450r in the sand, so we went and it was GREAT! Weather was nice and warm around 80 degrees and the babes were out in the bikinis all over the place. I have a few pics of Dumont also and if you are interested in seeing a few more just E-mail me or PM me. And I also have a couple 400ex's. They run in the sand no problem. BTW, piece of cake drive.

Post some vid, mephyst! How did the 400ex compare to the 450r, well, I mean did it even keep up?;)

Just playin around we could keep with each other.. plus it is my dad and he's not ricky-racer or anything. :blah: We traded off between the 400 and 450 every couple hours so we could really notice the difference. The 450 is incomparible and just smokes. When dragging it just totally dominates it and you really notice it in 3rd gear, and it completely pulls away.

Wow, it kept up till 3rd gear! That is impressive for an ol' ex!:D ;)

Yeah well you get out of the first 2 gears pretty quickly... and it just really starts to pull away once you get into 3rd. My 450 engine is stock too, and 400 has a few mods. Once you hit 3rd gear though on the 450 you are just gone compared to that EX. In a long drag I really mean you are waaaaaaaaay gone... you just keep gaining more distance the longer you go lol.

That is true. Have you dragged any 416s or 440s?
