Check out my Ghetto Spark Arrestor for the 450R. I bought the sparks full exhaust for the 450R, but went with the Spark Arrestor because of the trails that I ride.
Well, long story short, I already had the HRC kit which opens up the stock pipe quite a bit. Anyways, the SuperTrapp Spark Arrestor that came with the full exhaust sucks the life out of the pipe. The Supertrap Spark Arrestor with 190 jet was barely more powerful than the HRC kit and 185 jet. Anyways, I talked to sparks and they said without the SA, you will get the same performance as their non SA pipe.
So I've come to a happy medium, environmentally safe-without really losing any power. I pulled the wire mesh screen from the HRC pipe, went to Lowes, bought a piece of Stainless Steel, some bolts etc. and now I have the following.
A 4" stainless round circle with a 2" dia inside circle, six screw holes and a very fine wire mesh covering the exhaust opening.
It's a little on the Ghetto side, but I think it will function just fine as a spark Arrestor and I won't lose any power.
Feel free to take a look at the pics and comment, hey it's the best I could do with hand tools. :D
BTW- I can feel a big difference in power with the sparks pipe, but I haven't had a chance to test it thoroughly. It just seemed a hell of a lot stronger racing around the yard and the acceleration seemed to come on quicker as well.
Adding the pics.
