are you guys using HP4 w/moly in crank case & HP4 w/o moly in trans or just regular honda oil in trans? Is there a HP4M oil (w/moly) & HP4 (no moly)??

Use Pro Honda Trans oil in the tranny, right now I am using the regular GN4 for break in but I plan on switching to the HP4M synthetic stuff with moly after break in...

GN4 in tranny until I use up my last bottle then it will get HP4M in engine. Runing HP Trans Fluid in tranny from day one.

You don't want to run moly in your tranny. It is too slippery for the clutch. Use HP4 10w 40 for the tranny and HP4M 10w 40 for the egine. If you notice use the gold bottle of oil on the clutch side (gold colored clutch cover) and the silver bottle on the engine side (silver side case). That's how I remember

You'd be better off running HP Trans Fluid in the tranny. It was specially designed for trannys. HP4 would work OK too but why put an engine oil in a tranny? Makes more sense to put trany fluid in the tranny and engine oil in the engine.

I'm bringing this back up again.

I'm going to use Pro-Honda HP4 10W40 in my crank case, and then use Pro-Honda HP Trans Oil SAE 80W/85W in my tranny. I've read about HP4M, but i did not see any at the honda shop or on their website. I also thought the manual said to not run moly in the crank?

The manual says run moly or no-moly in the crank.. its your choice.
