I think stock rims are better than aftermarket rims, if you can't afford beadlocks.

I've popped the bead on an ITP during a race. I don't think it would have happened with the stocker...

Nope, I never have and I run mx too. I am gonna start out with all stock rims this year to see how long they last. Can't beat'em for the price. Personally, I think guys who buy beadlocks are suckers. I have never had a problem (knock on wood) with stock rims.:)

I bent the ***** out of my stock 400EX rims running hare scrambles/cross country, but never broke the bead.

If the struggle the dude at the cycle shop had with removing my stock tires is any indicator, I'd say there is a greater interference fit between stock tires/ rims verses aftermarket.

So far my Douglas beadlocks are still true. They are a hell of a lot stronger than stock.

I have bent several stock 250R rims. I have had a front tire pop of the bead once. I also run a good bit of air too. I switched to all beadlocks and have yet to have a problem within 2 years.

i used to run stock wheels on my 310 r and never had any come off the wheel ran one once almost a whole 6 mile lap and never even slowed down much it was a front and the reason stock wheels are so hard to get the tires off of is because of the raised lip that the bead has to slide over to get them off and as far as i know after market wheels dont have that lip on them

the stocker are a great rim. I had the same problem trying to get the tire off the inner bead.it s alot taller than most other rims.

If you break the bead on a stock rim, your ridin like a mofo. I've never even seen it happen.
