250x stuff

Can i mount a 300ex cylinder on a 250x bottom end, would i need a new head, and does anyone know if the 250x carb is the same as the 300ex carb?

cyl. and piston should work b/c its the stroke that is the difference in the motors, not sure about the carb, but i think its the same
