hp gains from port/polish

440ex, 10:1 piston, 40mm carb, straight k&n, w.bros desert cam, h/d valves+springs, full hmf system.

i flattrack here in wis. seems to me the next addition should be head work. what kind of gains can i expect? also, everybody offers different stage/$ jobs, how should i know the $worth$ these jobs is related directly to gains?

also, no time or money to send this head to a major engine builder. anyone have recommendations for good 4-stroke head work in WI or extreme northern Il

It really depends on what they do and how much they do. The hp gains will vary. Anything from less if they screw it up to 3 or 4 if they do a decent job.

GT thunder is in OH and Laz has a very quick turn around time. I"m very pleased in the head work he did on my 416.

Port work is definitly worth the money. More air and fuel means more power...:D
