I am beginning to get into some jumping and im gonna build a track soon and i need some mods. I just got Ohlins with rezzies for the front and i am wondreing what to do with my rear shock. Its got chain lube grease all over it and its sticking and not rebounding right. SHould i revalve it or just leave it alone and go big and hopefully it will fix itself? lol...i have seen ads for Race Tech's rear shock rebuild kit for $149 and it comes with an instructional video to install it. Does anyone have this? i know i should support marcums and send it out to them to do it for 250 but i dont want to spend the extra money...any help is appreciated. thanks alot guys. andrew:devil

why does the race tech kit come with an instructional video so you can do it yourself?

do it your self. it's better for you to learn to do it. just don't be afraid.

you have to do all that stuff to graduate?

do you reaaalllly need your shock rebuilt,,, if its not horrible i would wait untill you have the money to get it done by a pro...just think if you spend all of that and then it doesnt come out right or sumthen and you just wasted all that money....

well..in order to graduate from my high school you have to do a project and present it your senior year and you start it in 9th grade...ive already started it so im gonna stick with it. I can send it out to get done but hten i wont have money for other mods. andrew:confused:

i would think oil would come in a kit with it. i'm sure if you know anything mechaical you can figure it out. plus if you do learn the you don't have to pay everytime you need a rebuild. everyone has their first time to do something. and even if you do mess up you can always get another shock from ebay for like 150 dollars.

i wish our school had something like that..but it might suck to present it...

yah...you have to keep a journal and fill it out in pretty good detail on exactly what you do..whenver you do something on the net like surf the net looknig for information..you have to write that down..little things like that. then you have to present your project to your mentors which you were assigned in 10th grade...its a pain but i got a kool topic. later guys

how about that quadshop rebuild kit?

i haven't done a shock rebuild but me and my sis's boyfriend wanna learn to. that way it's something we can do instead of paying out the @$$ to. i think if your smart it shouldn't be too bad.

well LRD....i was gonna do the revalve my self and yes, im pretty smart.but...proaction suspension will revalve it and clean it and do all that stuff for 175 plus shipping...you cant beat that deal. my friend just sent his kx125 stock rear shock out there to get done..got it back in a little over 2 weeks. he said it was worth it and for 50 bucks more or so then the race tech self revalve kit, i would do it for the added assurance of not screwing anything up. thanks. later
