View Full Version : Installing a tether cord

Bought a thether cord (switch), It did not come with any instr
uction's on how to install it. This is on a 250 ex.:confused2 Does anyone know to wire this. It has two wires....thanks

Well if it is a pro design, there is a long wire and a short wire. The short one goes to ground and the long one goes to the "hot" wire that goes to your ignition coil from the cdi. If it isn't a pro design, then well that is your first mistake, but anyway it is just about the same. One wire goes to ground wich is just the frame and the other goes to the hot wire going to the ignition coil from the cdi. There are cinnectors made for splicing into wires without having to cut them so if you have to just go to the hardware store and ask some one for it. Hook one wire to the Black/White wire comming out of the CDI box going to the kill switch and the other to ground. It is as easy as that.
