how should i gear my 400ex its stock gearing right now .

What do i do for my acceleration???

What do i do for my top speed???

I think i want more top speed but if i get 18 inch tires and put gears inthere for more tops speed would that equal out to back to what it used to? im kinda confused

My screen name is lilhockeyplaya8 is any 1 would like ot explain it to my or they could just post a reply here thanks:confused:

Also what would a hmf slip on help? top speed or acceleration

top speed i would go for a 16 front and 36 back that would put a stock 400ex up to 73 MPH for acceleratios i would go for 13 front and 39 back

those gearing recommendations are somewhat rediculous. you won't want to go more than a 16 front with stock rear on a stock 400ex. also, i wouldn't go much if any more than a 14 front and stock rear sprocket for lower gearing.

a smaller front sprocket gives more low end power
a smaller rear sprocket gives more top speed
for every 1 tooth you drop or go up in the front, it is equivalent to about 2.5 teeth in the rear.
the stock gearing is 15 front and 38 rear.

he was asking for the best topend and i gave it to him.top end is biggest on front and smallest on back ,the opposite for acceleration
