I have a 1988 230 quadsport that i am tryign to sell. When it runs for a while, the headpipe starts to glow red. I am guessing it is running to lean (getting too much air, not enough gas) anyone know what i should adjust on it?

im pretty sure that the main jet does not control the idle. so i would go up on the pilot jet. but first i would turn the air/fuel screw out a turn or two.

i have a good feeling that bike will have an air skrew instead of a fuel skrew like these hondas. so, if that is the case, you would need to turn the fuel skrew in to richen the mixture out at idle.

oh right, wouldn't that be the smart thing to do lets replace a jet that has nothing to do with idle i'm sure that would fix it :huh

actually most air-cooled bikes when you let them set and idle the head pipe is goin to glow so grab ya some weenies cause more then like you have nothing to worry bout, does the pipe cool off when your riding
