i've seen kits from 250 all the way up to like 1400 im guessing www.motojoe.com then just go to engine hop ups, then go all the way to the bottom right where it says big bore kits, etc and click white brother, then scroll down and you will see there kit for the 300,thats the cheapest one i've seen

Pow-Roll and Pro-Fab both offer good big bore kits for the 300ex. I dont remeber the prices for sure, but id say a good quality kit would run from 900 to 1400. You can either buy the kit or have a motor built, so prices will vary. They both have websites www.profabatv.com and www.powroll.com.

I got the Pro Fab 350 big bore in my 250X.The kits itself was around 300 (can't remember) and a race cam for 350.With all the machining and labor it came out to $1600.

that seems like a whole lot of money to spend on a 250x/300ex. if it were me id spend 200 more bucks and bolt a 350x motor in. it would be more reliable than that much bore on that small of a motor. i think you would be better off to buy a 350x motor than to put that much bore on a 250.... maybe im wrong tho ive never even heard of it much less rode a bike with one so how does it preform? IS it reliable?

yes, they are reliable, and at least my 350 big bore ( www.gthunder.com ) is faster than a 350x conversion

I had Scott at Profab put in my 330 pump gas kit. It came to about 449 bucks I think, with him doing all the machine work.

Yes it was a lot of cash to put into a motor.I almost did the 350X conversion instead of the big bore but I hada lto of trouble finding a motor in good shape.I knew the motor I had and how it ran. I wasn't really willing to take a chance on motor that was over 15 yrs old. I think it would have cost about the same to do the conversion. Reliabilty? It has 1 season on it. So far no probs. Will it beat 400s?Yes it will stay with piped 400s,piped Z400s etc.If i keep it I'll deffinatly problly throw a stroker in it and port/polish it.

Call FDO Racing at 1-740-967-1078. They have the best kits for the money. I have a 250x with a national 300cc kit in it and i can pull almost any 400ex out there on the track.
