1966 Chevy Nova SS L79
beautiful nova 400exracer, those L79s are worth a fortune now. ill post a pic of my dads nova thats been our on going project for 7 years now. i love this car, and man does it move!
1967 Chevy Nova SS---Black on Gold
sorry for the terrible quality, lets try this again
heres another, if the pics looks like **** or is dark, crank the brightness on your monitor up. tell me what u guys think..
I love Camaro's! I would give anything to have a 69' Camaro. A guy that lives up the road from me had a 68' or 69' Camaro (im not sure which model it is) but I dont think he hardly ever drives it! But I do know it runs b/c he moves it around the yard to cut grass under it in the summer. One day I think I might ride up there and offer him some $$$ for it. I might offer him around $4000 for it (or is that too cheap/too much?!?!). Its an ugly $hit brown color so if I bought it I woulddefinitaly paint it. I would prolly paint it Blue with 2 wide racing stripes across the top!
Or am I dreaming here...:huh (hey, it could happen...)
I think your dreamin. I was just looking for camaros around here and there were 3 69's and all of them wanted $20,000.

i have a '67 nova sitting in my garage. completely torn apart. its been our families project car for about 10yrs. hasn't made much progress. my dad bought it when he worked the night shift and he worked on it during the day, then he got put on days so he never had time to work on it.
ATOMIC,start turning wrenches on it again man, these cars are awesome and the 66-67's are really starting to disapear! wrenching on these things is about as fun as riding, i love spending saturday afternoons putting new parts on our nova, coming out of the garage in grease, then cleaning up and taking it for a spin. nuthin beats the looks you get when pull up to a red light and people are giving u thumbs or dumping the clutch and leaving rubber while going through the gears, smoke everwhere. dont let this thing rot away for ever, i know its expensive, but hey, its a CHEVY!!!!

Yea but see this car im talking about is not fixed up or anything though. But I dont think its original. I dont know, maby I should offer him a little more for it maby...like about $5000 or $6000...
Don't bother asking about price until you find out exactly what the camaro is. EXACTLY what it is, not what you've been told it is! It could be worth anywhere from next to nothing to tens of thousands of dollars. I work on old cars for free and it actually costs me money but I like it because I understand them and it keeps me mentally occupied. Currently working on ( off and on) some Packard show cars, GTO's and a Buick GS.
BTW- get a 60's car if you want but don't get caught up in the legend. They are super easy to work on but you can't afford the legendary models: the necessity to restore them to better than factory new, oh, and did I mention, driving the true legends will kill the resale value?

he also had a '69 camaro once canary yellow with 2 black race stripes..roll cage inside speed shifter..high performance all the way..everything except the breather coming out the hood....
crank it up and."KADALOP LOP LOP LOP LOP LOP KADALOP LOP LOP" lopin man...what arethose bars on the rear end to keep it from spinnin too much in a drag race...yeah had those.....he fixed it up right...went over to hit house one day and there he is in the floor with all kindsa stuff from the interior dash all laid out and him with some silver model paint..."toung hangin out the side of his mouth" consentrating painting the rings around the speedo on the dash.....me and him parked with it all day at K-MART parking lot trying to sell it out by the road...one guy comes along and pretty much insulted him wi the offer he gave..said "hold on a minute let me see somethin" "travis hop in".....eeeeeerrrrr burnt it all the way acroos the parking lot and pretty much outa site leaving...haha that guy didn't get 5h!t....he finally sold it though...some guys bougt it and striped it turned it into an all out drag car..big slicks an stuff.....pizzed him off that was his car man..oh well.......sorry for the long post......i drive a cadialac:D .big boddy for big bootties...:D

nice car vedder,
i still have the stang im trying to sell it though, no into racing cars anymore, its too expensive.
it ran 10.60@126
Me and my dad are currently working on a 68' camero 327 with all new shiii....... (Ahem) STUFF unde the hood and now we are moving nto the interior we are gonna redo the entire interior and have it painted red with white (i think maybe it was black but i think white) stipes like the orginal. I also wanna convert it to manual but y dad says maybe when we are done with everything else..........which mean no so is still cool but oculd be cooler oooo its conertible too!
hott440, is that a 66 or 67? what are you running for an engine?
Its a 67, with a (I think, its my dad's car) 360 with the 23 degree(again, i think thats what they are)vortec heads, hydraulic roller cam, and a ton of other $#!* that i cant remember...and the carb off of rusty wallaces #2 car. dynoed at like 575 hp...
He put a weird clutch in it too...the pedal only moves like an inch and a half or 2 inches...it will smoke the tires forever...He just ordered purple neons for under the hood and in the trunk too...
I would say how much we have in the engine, but someone would come up with a smart @$$ remark about it so pm me if you want to know. We have had the engine done about 3 times...

There's no need to defend yourself when posting a pic of a Vette. With the exception of the original Z-28 302, every high performance engine that's gone into a Camaro RS, SS, or Z car originated in a Corvette.
I like any and all old cars that look good. Upcoming project car is my fathers 69 Vette. 49k miles. 427/390hp, 4spd coupe. Original except soft body mounts, Koni shocks, stainless steel brake lines, Hurst shifter and Holley spreadbore 850CFM carb. Still have the original shifter and carb in boxes, just the aftermarkets work better. I'll have to dig through the photo albulm tonight if I think of it, and scan in a couple pictures. That 69's just setting in the garage, waiting on someone to give it a little TLC.
It may not run the 1/4 as fast as some of the new cars (Vette, Viper, Camaro, and some of the Cobra Mustangs) but it wasn't designed for that with the 4 wheel independent suspension and high gearing in the rear end. And none of the new cars can match the sound of a big block rumble.
i couldnt agree with you more Scott, i hate when guys think they are so damn cool in their little lowered VWs and Audis and ****, obivosuly theyd kill my Nova in top speed because of the way its geared (close ratio M-21 muncie 4 speed and 3:73 posi rearend) but off the line forget it, theyd be long gone. i dont know, i just cant get into the newer cars now, compared to the 60's they dont have the lines and looks they used to have. not to mention that annoying sound of those loud pipes and ground effects and those ridiculous spoliers, i mean why would you take that over the *****in rumble of dual 3inch exhuast????? my dad, a long time muslce enthusiast bought a 98 BMW M3, and i was shocked, i couldnt believe it, it was like he was turning his back on everything. he still assures me that muscle cars are the best, but im not sure. just my 0.02. im gonna be hearing it about bashing the little screamers now.... :D

I know exactly where your comin from there too......I dont care for imports either...I need V8 power and rear wheel drive. As far as lowering and GFX go...well.....guilty as charged. But one ride in this car would change your whole outlook...every bit the torque and grunt of the old musclecars combined with excellent handling and an enormous top speed....(stock..150)(mine with mods INCLUDING 3.73s....160+)
Ive driven the imports and dont feel right at all in them....but thats just me. Go out and test drive a newer Z...93 and up....LT1s will impress you with the torque...98 and newer LS1s are screamin race engines (tons of potential)
Im not tryin to start any flames as I love all cars ....especially early Camaros

quad041!!!...how much for the stang and whats done to it?
vedders i love to test drive a LT1, and yeah lowering and GFX dont look bad on a REAL car with REAL power, its those little screamers people try to make fast cars out of. my dads M3 definetly moves, ive been in it when he got it up to about 130 and thats just scary fast. hes only had it for a short time and its in the garage for the winter, should be out in a few weeks. he told me hed let me take it out so well see what it can do.

Don't be too quick to count out the M3, it's a front engine, rear drive, and they have respectable HP numbers. I don't know what year you're talking about, but the new ones are 330hp at the wheels. Basically, it would give my 440 all it wanted, if not beat me in a straight line, plus the Bimmer could do it with 4 peolple seated comfortably, listening to the cd player with the AC on. My 440 is minus the back seat, cd player, and AC. Never had it to begin with (77 shortbed pickup!).
I'm not a fan of the ricers, but people make do with what they have. How many teenagers today have the opportunity and money to buy an old V-8 hot rod for their daily driver, restore it to a reliable and safe condition, and still have the money left over to feed that V-8 on a daily basis? Not many. He!!, I can't even do that.

My cousin just sold his 68' camaro (327, 4 spd.)
to buy a new raptor. He loves the raptor but I know he misses the camaro.

That was a VERY BAD trade off.
Let me know if he wants a 300ex, or anything else I own... I would be more than happy with the trade for a nice 327 4spd.

Here is the 67 chevy c-10 I am working on.I plan on dropping it 2 1/2 inches, with airbag suspension,Converting it over to 5 lug qith power disk,a healthy 350 with a 700r4.It is going to be silver with torque thrust 2's.

here is the motor I am putting in the truck. It is a 79 350 4 bolt main.Stock bore and pistons, comp cams 270h cam with comp cams lifters and double roller timing chain,a melling high volume oil pump.I have a set of 906 casting vortec heads that are going to the machine shop to get screw in studs, the right valve springs to match the cam, porting etc.etc.I am going to have an airgap intake with a holley 650 double pumper. An an msd ignition.
For the trans I am going to run a 700r4.With a 2500 stall convertor and 3.90 rear gears in the 12 bolt.I also plan on getting some type of nitrous system with around a 150-200 horse shot.I am hoping for low 13's-12's.
I also have a 69 camaro that is on the rotiserry.(I will post a pic later.And a 1990 chevy 3/4 ton 4wd that I am also working on.As well as a 78 jeep cj-5.
That is why my R and 300ex will never get fixed!

You guys sure have some nice stuff. Mine doesn't compare in the motor department but i'm happy with the stock 305 TPI, for now. lol
Here is my 85 Camaro Z-28. It runs great. Has 96,000 miles on it. I just want to make this one into a show car, not to fast. I want to have a 98+ SS or firehawk.

RookieEX: I'm guessing you mean a Yencko Camaro.
Long story short, Yencko was a car dealership that ordered base model chevy's and 427 crate motors, then swapped in the 427's, custom stripes, seats, and sold them (all with GM's permission). Yenckos and Baldwins are very rare and were top of the line performance machines for their day. Just about worth their weight in gold now.
