Recon Bearings

Dose any body know how to get the axle out of the rear end on a Recon? I'm asking for a friend he said he took the lock nut off but he dosent see a snap ring behind the locknut. I havent had a chance to look at it my self but any help would be awesome.

my friend had same problem...he needed a special tool to get that ****t off....he had to get it from the dealer....what a bad design
