Counter-Strike help????

I have not been having very good luck setting up my counter-strike. I want the version 1.5, because all my freinds have 1.6 and hate it. I tried downloading the update from about 239032432 places. But they either require you to pay, or they dont work right. Anyone play this game and have any ideas?

1.6 isn't that bad, i like steam and all of it's features. the friends thing, server history, i think steam has more to offer than 1.5.

Took me 2 months to get used to it, but 1.6 isnt to bad.

steam is gay...go buy an xbox & xbox live & get CS...its better on the XBOX anyways....I'm pretty sure there about to drop 1.5 anyways. sorry guy

I had a fit trying to get the update for that series of games. It was so confusing. Then I downloaded Steam. Steam is sort of like a master control program from Sierra for its games. It looks at what version you have and makes the correct updates. Steam is the way to go with half life and all its spin off games. Well worth the download.
