I have only heard and seen of aftermarket CDI's giving you an extra 1,000 rpms:huh

i am not sure. i was thinking that one was 1000 rpms higher than stock and the other was 2000 rpms higher than stock. i would just call and find out because i honestly don't know. i just wouldn't mess around with other boxes that make the bike hard to start.

Get a Dyna Ignition they are awesome!! a friend of mine put it on his Z and it made a good differece. pluss u can program the rev limiters to any RPM and you can do some other stuff to. But i dunno if they make em for a 300ex?

From what I remember, its not worth it because the engine power and torque drops off right before the stock limit kicks in. It does work with modified engines though. Cam, porting, carb, bigger valves, etc.

If your wanting 2500 you might as well get an open limit box. The damage that can be doen with an extra 2500 is not gonna be anyless than with an open limit box. I run an open and just listen to the engine to know when to back off
