Indianapolis, Feb. 19 - A Honda motorcycle is missing in action. It's one of several stolen in what detectives consider an organized bike heist.
Thousands of motorcycle lovers spent last weekend in Indianapolis.
Some riders unloaded their bikes at the Convention Center for the largest motorcycle event in the country. Some of the bikers stayed at the Airport Adam's Mark Hotel.
But as they slept Friday the 13th, shortly after midnight, as luck would have it, someone got away with their rides.
The thieves took a 2002 Honda Z50J. It appraises at $4,500.
They also took a 2004 Honda CRF50F. The customized bike is made from aluminum. It's the only one in the country valued at $13,000.
Someone also stole a 1969 Honda Z50A. This restored motorcycle appraises at $4,000.
Whoever stole the motorcycles also stole a pickup truck from a Denny's parking lot. According to Marion County detectives, they used that pickup to load the bikes one by one.
The owner of the pickup was inside Denny's eating breakfast. It's a red and white Ford F 250 pickup.
Detectives hope someone may have seen the motorcycle thieves driving the truck.
Two hotel employees told detectives, "They did see a suspicious vehicle, a red and white pickup truck, that was leaving the parking lot that morning," says Marion County Captain Phil Burton.
Deputies suspect the motorcycle thieves will try to sell their stolen goods. They would like to hear from anyone who can provide clues to help track them down.
