View Full Version : 450r frnt shcz won't work on 400ex

or atleast not without a little work. i just got a set for my 400ex. the bottom fits good. the problem is in the top mount. the eyelet mount on the shock is larger than the stock 400. it hits on the frame side of the mount and a nut welded inside of mount. it just barely hits. i just took a grinder to the eyelet mount on the shock. it only took a little work to clear out the space needed. just be sure it clears all the way through the shocks travel. good luck i hope this helps someone. :D

so um what exactly did you do for the overall length distance, you grind that down too :confused:

how high does the front end sit up. It looks like your using all your travel.

were did you get the 450r shocks? what is the measure eyelet to eyelet? how much higher is it from stock 400 shocks.
