i was just wondering how much would a 416 kit with a xr400 cam cost me? also wat does it consit of? piston,rings ect.....and one more thingwill i smoke a raptor?:devil

You can get a 416 kit in your door from Terry Marcum for about 300 bucks or less. The kit consists of a Stock Bore Higher Compression Piston(usually JE 10.8.1) and a top-end gasket kit . The XR400 Cam and Viton valve seals will have to be ordered seperately but the 300$ price is with them incuded. If im wrong about any of this please correct me! I'm not really sure whether you will be able to smoke a craptor because i've heard many different opinions/stories. But most people say that if you have a cleanly done 416 with all the right stuff that you'll be able to hang with a rapturd or maybe have a slight edge. Good luck

You can not get a 416 in a stock bore size. A stock bore size is like 396or 397 I don't remember. You have to get your cylinder bored out to a 416 which is included in the price from Marcums.

You will have to bore the cylinder for a 416. You can see from my sig the mods I had on my 416. I would wipe out a stock Craptor and hang with the modded ones. If it is done right it is a VERY nice setup. As far as the compression of piston, I see quite a few people going with the 10.8:1. On this you can run pump gas. With a 11:1 piston or higher you may need to mix pump and race gas. If you got about $300 I would definately get the 416 kit. You will be VERY happy with it and Im sure others will say the same. The piston and gasket kit,XR cam, and viton valve seals will run you right about $300. Then I would reccomend getting your head ported and polished, remove the choke out of the carb and rejet it. You will love it!!

do yall change the valve springs and rockers? Do yall run differnt(with more lift) or are they just like stock just hardned. Also does the rockers and springs help and where can I buy them.

You dont need em!! Keep it stock!

Wait hold on........400exRacerX has in his profile a JE 10.8:1 STOCK BORE piston!!! Maybe its just a domed piston to get higher compression? I'm confused!

400exraceerx got a stock bore piston from marcums... but like rico and them have 416 kits... a 416 is a 400ex cylinder bored .80 over.... a 406 kit is a cylinder bored .40 over... a stock motors bore is .00 and it is 397 cc... all 400exracerx piston is a domed piston...

wont changing the rockers and springs give you any power? and doesent hardened rockers save the cam?

Hardened rockers do not add horse power or speed....... Its so they dont break....... If you are putting a drop-in-cam in you do not have to get the rockers hardened....... The valve spings should be changed when you bore........ It does add to the performance and your modded quad will run better...... Porting and polishing is expensive but worth every penny....... Stock carb will be more than enough for a 416 kit....... You should do jetting though........ Just a slip-on exaust is fine but I would get a new head pipe....... Oh and get a rev kit and you wont be sorry....... Thats it in a nut shell.......

It cost me about 1000$ with the xr400 cam. Pro fab atv did mine, they did a great job!! You wont smoke a craptor but you will deffinatly like ur 400 better. :D

$1000 is crazy!!. I had all mine done, including XR cam, piston,gasket and seals, complete race port and polish, removed choke from carb, and rejetted for about $650. And for some reason I beat every stock Craptor I raced and beat or hung right with the piped and jetted ones!!

My 416 will beat a raptor but I have the HRC in it.

I was Checking out Hetrick Racing today. I really liked what I saw. They have a 416 Kit for $499.95 and you can Choose the Cam you want. That Included Labor too. I don`t know what it all Includes or if you get certain Cams to choose from, but it sounds like a Good Deal.

i belive the hetricks also includes a port and polish and the 499 price is the price with taking the quad apart so the price drops even more. my cylinder head will be going to them this summer. i also want titanuim valves and retainers. hard face rockers and a huge cam to match my porting. and a lrd pipe.

Yeah if you take out the Price of taking the Quad apart it wouldn`t be to Bad. It sounds like you want a Big Motor LRD. The LRD Pipes look Cool, but I would get the Hetrick Pipe.

i might cause i'm suppose to get a 50 dollar cupon off the hetrick pipe but i am a big lrd fan.
