Putting in a 42 Pilot tonight. With the goodies listed below(i.e. Pipe and main) do I have to adjust or change anything?

Thanks:confused:

you may want to see where the fuel skrew is set at. also, i would go down on the mainjet for your mods, but everyone has their own opinion on this.

I am running the exact jetting in my bike with an HMF slip on.It runs hard. From the bottom-mid.Top end really doesn't pull much harder than stock. It does maybe a little bit.My plug looks a little rich.I would rather have it rich than lean.Plus it allows me to take my airbox lid off without worrying about running lean.

exactly. it will run the coolest when jetted rich. however, it will have the least amount of power too. yes, it will run strong but it will run quite a bit stronger with a smaller main. most people i talk to don't even run a 165 on their slightly built motor. i run a 10.8:1 406 with filter, x-6, etc and i won't even run a 165 in the coldest winter months. in the winter i go up to a 160. in the summer i will go down one to two sizes from there. good luck

My buddy runs a 165 main in his stock 400. All it has is a r-4 slipon. The plug looks tan and it runs fine. It all depends on the altitude of where you're at.

by the way, i am only at 625 feet above sea level. bigger doesn't mean better when you play with jetting.

The biggest mistake people make when jetting, is to "accept" that just because their motor is running good, they are jetted correct. A lot of times, they are leaving a lot on the table. Try running leaner, as well as richer to insure you have the right combination.
I guess I am sick, because I like to tinker, and insure myself things are right on. The bottom line is, I hate to lose to someone when they didn't really have the machine to beat me. Make them earn it!!

Riders win, not machines.

I agree 100%, but you don't want to handicap yourself either.
