I'm curious about this too. All the mags say that the yfz has a better response to the piping mod, but I think that's not where the 450r needs mods. The carb in my mind is what it needs to let out a lot of power!

The stock carb on the trx is a 42mm BUT it is a Butterfly :eek2:

The CRF is a Flat slide 41mm and it WILL flow more air and if you want to know how good it works it is what was used on the BAJA 1000 450r:huh :macho

i am getting the carb from the CRF450R bike for my TRX 450R. Getting it modified at Baldwins, jetted and installed with his pipe. also eliminated all extra wiring :headlights, taillight, key, fan, and switches on bars. New carb comes with its own throttle and hot start and a new clutch perch. Baldwin Motorsports has more info.

man for 850 tho...Thats alotta dough....The carb already comes with the hot start and you just need the crf cable which is 9 bux...The adaptor is expensive from him i know...

I use a YFZ cable on my CRF quad to use a thumb throttle on my CRF carb. Johnny Hale told me this trick.

I have the CRF carb on my TRX and did make a difference. There is machine shop that is going to make extensions. That I will sell. other than that you need a clutch lever w/ hotstart lever, hotstart cable, and you can wire your plug off your stock carb to the CRF carb the stock throttle cable will work fine. I think I will be able to sell the complete package for around $600-650

You can get the carb for around $330 from service honda. And all the other dew hickies that you will need shouldn't be all that much more. So for around $400 you can get the damn near the same thing everyone else is selling for far less.

You will need a crf hot start cable, the carb which is backordered nationwide and an extender for the back of the carb...Johnny Hale will have these availible very soon...
