For those of you with built 250x/300ex engines

I am starting to put togother another bike.Basicly it will be a nice 250x.

First of all is anyone running like a 395 or 410 stroker.This would be a little down the road.How hot do they run?Did you ad an oil cooler?I am thinking it would have to be must.I have heard those motors are pretty much timebombs.Is this true?



I am sure I want a big bore.I was just looking around and saw powroll has a 288 big bore kit.I was thinking about an 11:1 compression ratio.Will a stock rod/crank be able to handle the higher compression?

What kind of cam are you guys running?I am looking for more low-mid than anything.



What would you guys suggest doing.I plan on racing mx on it.

the comprssion will be fine, i have 12 to 1 on stock rod no problems and i also have a white brothers cam that pulls harder then ne thing.

250x w/300 big bore kit fully race ported,stiffer valve springs,hardened rockers,web cam,full dg exhaust and jetted. I also have stiffer clutch springs. I have no oil cooler run mx and it does awesome,it will hang with most bigger displacement quads in the straights. I have a set of plus +2+1 lonestar a arms for sale if interested.

I have the Pro Fab 350 kit and a race cam in my 250X.I haven't got the stroker yet. Yes these kits do make the motors run much hotter.An oil cooler would be a good idea. As far as being timebombs it all comes down to maintence.Keep the filters clean,change the oil and filter and all the normal stuff.

just get a 350x motor! theyve got a kit for it to be put in a 250x chassis and you can bore them to a 430

I could get a 350x motor.Just depends on which one I find first.I rode a buddies 250x with a built 350x motor and it ran pretty hard.And it wasn't even running right.

I am also putting this bike togother thinking my girlfreind could ride it.(She rides my 400 but I don't like her having that much power.)


I am just throwing around idea's right now.Waiting for the frame to get here.Then I can start building it.
