what is a good filter to buy besides a k&n??

i clean mine with gas and then wash it out with soap and water. i will then rinse it out, let it dry and oil it up.

yeah i was thinking about going with a uni so looks like thats what i will do.

supposedly you aren't supposed to clean foam filters with gas, it eats the glue and foam, don't really know from experience, I use k&n now..... but we did have some troubles with a few foam filters when we cleaned them with gas

yeah and never clean a k&n with gas either.

technically they don't recommend using gas to clean the filter. however, it does work and it doesn't damage the filter really quick. with cleaning my filters like this they will still last well over a year. i can probally go without buying a new filter for 2 years. yes, i think they say the gas will eat away the glue on the filter, but usually my foam is ripping before the glue come unattached. they way i look at it is that the gas isn't expensive, it works good, and it doesn't ruin the filter quick at all. so, i will continue doing this. i know many other people use kerosene with good success. now, with a K&N, i wouldn't use gas. i would always use their cleaner with their oil. good luck

yeah i thought about using kerosene. i always have some of that so i guess i could use that. thanks for all the help.
