AND he let ME ride it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SWEET!!!!
Well, I finally got a ride on a NEW 450R. Very nice. VERY TALL 1st gear. Pulled good. The engine is 100% stock right now. He has the power up kit, but he is waiting for the 6month warranty to expire before puttin any of it on. Got some input on performance.
Everybody asks about how they compare to a "stock" 250R, but it is kinda hard to find a "stock" 250R. My other buddy just happens to have a REAL "stock" 1988 TRX250R. The only thing NOT stock are the new white 89' plastics and some diff wheels. Engine is still on the stock bore. The new 450R pulls it in EVERY gear all the way to top speed. Both machines got would out, and there is about a 5-6 bike difference. They did it with diff riders and multiple runs. Same each time give or take a bike lenght. Now for a comparison, they also had a slightly modded R, too. (pipe, jetted, filter and carb) The 450R gets it by only a length or 2. The same guy with the slightly modded R has a full race R. Lots of engine work, but he only runs it in warm weather. That R BEATS the slightly modded one by 5-6 lengths, so it would beat the new 450R by a couple. Not bad for a stock machine. Ron (owner of the new 450R) is very happy with his new toy. I still can't get over the front-end. Enough of the blab blab blab. I guess ya want some pics. Here ya go.
