400ex spark arrester

has anyone takin there spark arrester out of there stock pipe. soon as i get my 400 im planin on doing this. does it sound like an after market pipe, or does it back fire alot? is there any power difference?

It definately makes it sound BETTER. The 250EX exhaust is the same and I took the s\a out of my wifes and I like the way it sounds. It goes backfire though! As far as the power it wont REALLY be noticeable

yeah my friend did this on his 400. it sounds pretty good. another friend of mine has a yoshimura and i prefere the stock exhaust minus the arrestor than the yoshi. as far as making more power i hear it gives an extra horse but i couldn't really feel it because it was before i got mine.

I tried it when my 400 was stock. Couldn't tell if it was more powerful or just sounded like it. I really didn't care for the sound (kind of cheap and dumb sound, especially at the dunes). Buy a slip-on, it'll have more performance and sound A LOT better! :)
