Ok, Here's an update on her situation...

She went to talk to a surgeon the other day, and because of my mom's young age and because she's has awesome health, they are going to do chemo for 3-6 to shrink the cancer. Then, she will have a 'Lumpectomy' to hopefully remove the cancer itself. Following the surgury, she will have to undergo 6 weeks of radiation, five days a week :( .She will be on a pill for 5 years to keep the cancer from redeveloping.

Chemo will be starting this thursday, they will be using two poisens, one thru an IV and one thru a shot. She will begin to lose her hair 19 days after the first treatment. She's taking it much better then i thought. My mom has very pretty auborn(sp?) hair, and i know it's gonna kill her to lose that for a long period of time. For a little support, i voluntered to shave my head when she starts to lose her hair :eek2: !

I'll keep you guys updated, Thanks for the support! :)

killa i was talkin to my mom last night... her job is a radiation theropist... basically she'll be the person treating ur mom after the surgery...

i was askin her about it and she said 99% of her patients with that type of cancer and treatment live for another 20 - 30 years with no problem... so thats something to look forward 2;)

oh man that sukz! Well at least she's on the road to recovery!!! Cancer really sucks major balls...a few ppls in my family had it, they are still around which is good!:) Thats good of u to volenteer to shave your head when your mom starts to lose her hair!! You never know tho, she may not loose all of it, my grandmother's hair only thinned, but she still went and got a really nice wig.

Hope your mom gets better soon!!! *hugs*:)

Amen! Like I stated in the first post, my mom has been in remission for about 10 months. The doctors didn't think she would make it, but she has proved them wrong and is doing fine. Actually, she just had knee replacement surgery last Wednesday. The breast cancer has not shown back up but cancer is a b*tch.

Hang in there man. Keep your spirits up and support your mom along with the whole family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
