I have constantly heard on here that an xr400 cam would not be enough for a 440. Wouldn't it be a lot better than running it with the stock cam? What about it isn't enough if its better performing than a stock one is? Would it make a noticable difference than running the quad with a stock cam? Please help me out on this one. Thanks guys

Well it will definitly be more than a stock cam,,,I'm sure it will work just fine,,for the price ya can't beat it...your best bet would be to call terry marcum,,he has a 440ex,,see what he's usin..

Maybe Patrick Barcellos will chime in, but his 440 with an XR cam has a lower top speed than a piped stocker. Gets there much quicker, but the XR cam is just too small for that size motor. It runs out of breath.

You can buy a GT Thunder cam for about the same price as an XR cam. The XR cam is great in a stock motor, but it's not enough for a 440 kit. My buddies 440/XR-cammmed EX wasn't much faster than my 400/XR-cammed EX until he swapped in a GT cam. Then it was all over. Now his 440/GT-cammed EX crushes mine.

I have one wish I would have went a little bigger I think that the other post is correct that if you have a 440 you could get alot better performance out of a bigger cam look at the web 450/451 cam and the W/B same cam and the gt thunder cam any of those I believe is a much better cam.

stock 400ex cam234/238-- 316/302
xrcam 240/240--326/321
W/B ? WEB 256 -- 350/345

you take your pick!!

There are so many Drop-Ins it is Hard to Choose. TC, Sparks, CT, Fischer, GT Thunder, HRC, and More. I would get a TC, Sparks, or GT Thunder. The TC Cams are between $179 and $209. The Sparks is $375, and the GT Thunder is around $155.
