im wondering what gearing is good for me ? i have a 2003 400ex some mods. i like to fly but quick starts are nice too . whats the deal ? what gears sprockets are good front and back please help:rolleyes:

if you like both low and high end power, i would stick with stock gearing. if you can loose a little top speed, a 14 tooth front makes the drivability nice. if you don't do much slow riding, a 16 up front or a 36 rear might be right for you.

thx cal i do mostly trail some jumps and mx what ya think i should do i like to go fast but also climb hills n holeshots?

i guess it depends if you rather have a little more low end power or a little more top speed? it sounds like the stock gearing might be right for you if you want right inbetween.

go buy a 14t and try it .$20 or so, i had to shorten my chain a couple of links.$5 for a masterlink. i like it on the trails and hills. my buds have z400s,kfx400s,v force700,no problems keepin up or roostin em when i need to. its a cheap experiment. good luck
