Anyone tune into suspention adjustments yet? Having trouble with the rebound?? Any input would be great?

Not having problems just trying to adjust with a softer rebound, seems a bit bouncy, just wondering if anyone has adjusted it already. If so did it make much of a difference?

If it is bouncy you want a stiffer rebound. Screw the adjuster in.

ive dropped mine as low as it will go and adjusted the compression to the softest setting.

What???...wouldnt stiffining the rebound make it rebound faster, therefore making it more bouncy? I would think you would need to soften the rebound, ive deffanately felt the bouncyness you are talking about, and i will adjust it soon. I have also lowered mine as far as it will go. It sits higher than my 416ex which has 22" tires! But now that i have lowerd it it feels awesome!

In which way did you lower it? With the preload? just the rear or both?

I think he means stiffer as in slower rebound.

There is an adjustment at the top of the spring. You are going to have to loosen it and then twist the spring... bla... bla.. bla... I cant explain it. Im not a mechanic. If I didnt have sponsors and a mechanic Id have a horribly set up bike. Ill stick to my day job. Hopefully somebody else can explain it better than I can.

If you make the rebound damping stiffer it will rebound slower. Just like if you make the compression damping stiffer it will compress slower. If it is bouncy it is probably because it rebounds to fast thus making it seem like it is bounceing up. By stiffening the rebound (turning the screw in clockwise) it will stiffen the damping and make it rebound slower.

has anyone else done this to there rear shock? Aren't you loosing travel that way?

No you aren't looseing travel. It just make it go through the travel slower so it doesn't buck you on the rebound.

no no i mean lowering the spring nuts all the way down not the rebound

No you are just either stiffening or softening the springs. The springs don't determine the travel. The length of the shock shaft and the bump stop determine the travel.

Hey, 2004TRX450R, I went to the track this weekend with your advice, it handled the jumps and whoops much better. Thanks!!

right so if i loosen my spring all the way i am moveing the bump closer am i not? Hence loosing travel

You aren't moveing the bump stop if you adjust your spring. Even if you make it really soft and it sags more you still aren't looseing travel. You just don't have as much downward travel from sitting there where it sags to but when you jump or do anything to get the front end light or in the air it tops out and you have the same amount of travel. Travel isn't the amount it moves from where it sags to to where it bottoms out. It is from where it is topped out at to where it bottoms out at.

try putting your preload as low as it goes.. lower preload = lower quad = better handling

rebound wise I notice with my yfz, the faster the rebound the more it would kick up after a jump.

but the faster the rider you are the more rebound you want, the slower you are put less rebound.
