the whole 9 yards was from the p-51 mustang... i always wondered that and i was at a air show talkin to a guy and he told me...

Actually, that's false. The GP came from the build code it was given. The nickname came afterwards.

did anybody else try to think of something not wider than a thumb that could be used as a weapon? j/k :D

about that Queen Elizabeth II, my grandmother is in an organization that is trying to get it SHUT DOWN. shes not an environmentalist,, she rides a kodiak 450 and hunts a lot :) BUT COMON, 6 inches? PFFFT.....thats like...a gazillion times two to get across the atlantic, that could be used in trucks or something.

Also....
1 out of evry 5 miles of the Eisenhower Highway System is straight. The reason for this is so that it could be used as a runway/landing strip during times of war.

i heard on mail call that it got the name jeep after a character on Popye the sailor man who could fly through walls and go everywere(her name was jeep), and they want to give the assumption that jeeps could go anywhere. You cant argue with mail call onthe history channel
