Ford Bronco 4X4

My qustion is relating to a push button 4X4 in an 1988 Bronco.I am used to the manuel hubs on a suburban I used to own.With the manuel hubs I know you put it into neutral turn the caps to free and then shift it into 4X4.With this automatic push button 4X4 should I shift into neutral then push the button like before. Or can I have it into drive still while on am stoped and push the button to engage it.

read the manual... the push buttons are different. I had an explorer and u could go into 4 wheel drive anywhere from 0 to 55 miles per hour.
