i need some advise

I have a 87' 250x motor with bad rockers and bad cam. but the bottom end is all new and the piston and rings is fine and new valves and springs. how much would it sell for? I found a 350x in a near by town and he wants only 500 for it but the rings r bad in it. what wuld i have to do to cure that problem so i wouldnt have to worry about it? ( besides re-hone the cylinder and change the rings )

It will cost you a little to get the 350x to go in your 250x. Mounts and exhaust will be the big things. It all depends on if you do the labor yourself on the 350x, and just how bad the jug is and if there is a bore left in it. You will prob. need a piston, bore, hone, rings, and gasket kit, plus labor.

Its a hole 3 weeler so would the header pipe fit on my 250x? or do i have to buy the kit. its a buddie of mine so he'll help me out but this is my first convedrsion so...and i need to get rid of my 250x motor before i buy anything

If you can get the complete trike for 500 buy it now. If I was you I would have the money in the mail now. That rear end will also go on your 250x with a little work and make your quad about 1 1/2 inches longer and 2" wider. Plus you could part out the rest and probably get alot of your money back.


I am pretty sure the 350x pipe will not work on your 250x, the frame gets in the way. someone correct me if i am wrong

well atleast i got god advise and save my money up i just bought a new truck so im flat broke. i wunder how much that 250x motor will go for???

It is hard to say what you could get out of it. If it was mine I wouls take offers on it and if i didn't get it sold, sell it on ebay one piece at a time.

:) the pipe will not fit. if you have the time and patience you can cut the pipe in to peices and weld it back together.i helped a guy do that. also the motor fits pretty good in the frame. all you have to do is cut about 1.5 inches out of the back of the case the back bolt hole. you will see what i mean when you try to put it in. it is a easy conversion too do .:macho
