Any Differences?

Im looking to buy a 400ex and was wondering if there is any major differences in any of the years besides decals? Any info would be greatly appreciated.:bandit:

color and decals...thats about it. Well, I think the 2001's + came with a little rubber cover that goes over the battery....

00 - 01 have differnt carbs on them...

the venting of the carbs are differnt...


something about the air boot from the carb to the engine is differnt from 99- 00 also... the 99 cracked...


very little things are differnt... things u'd never notice...

are they actually different carbs or does the vent tube run different?

i just know they are differnt... mine has one vent tube where my friends has 2 vents... they come to a Y on his... mine don't have that...

i'm not sure if its better or what... all i know is theres a extra hose... i dunno much about carbs:(

They also went with biggers carbs on 04.

for the most part there the same...there are some little differences:D
