Hey ..

Are 250R shocks the same as 400ex?
Like if someone was selling Pep Shocks off a 250R ... will they bolt right up and work fine with my 400ex?

need a reply asap

thanks

i was looking at the fronts ... they WILL work for sure then?

I just bought +2 a-arms ... he said that they are set up for +2 arms ... and are 17" length????
Stock is 16" on a 400ex & a 250R ...
is that extra inch just for sag?
will these shocks def. work for me?

The front shocks will work fine. I know they will bolt up and you can adjust them if you need to. The back does not bolt up because the 250r linkage is a different design.

WHat kind of shocks are they? Any front shock that will fit a 400 will fit a 250r. They will be 19 inches if they are long travel. The rear shocks will not fit.

a 17" shock is too long for your bike. the only thing you can check is the droop of the a arms. with the shock disconnected, measure from the ctr of the shock tower hole to the ctr of the shock mnt hole on the a arms. (at full droop). if the distance is not at least 17.25" do not use those shocks.

good luck

What he is saying is to jack up your quad and take one frt shock off. Make sure the wheel is hanging as low as it can go without the shock on. jack it up more if you have to. The only thing stopping it from drooping more will be that the ball joints have reached bind. Then measure the distance between the holes where the shock bolts in with a tape measure. Center of one hole to center of the other. If this distance is not at least a little more than the 17 inches that the shocks you want are then you should not use them. If it is then they will work but will require more of the stroke to be used in sag than a 16 inch shock would to get the proper ride height. they may also have a longer compressed length than is required for your setup. this would mean that when they bottom you quad is higher than it should be in that condition.
