Race Gas, 100 octane and up question

I have to use 100 octane and up, gas in my engine. I am not too familiar with all the brands out there. A local gas station is selling what they call "race gas, 100 octane", for $2.50 per gallon. I never see anyone using the pumps, so i wonder how long that gas sits in those pumps. Maybe the quality will not be good. Then a local shop sells VP gas for over $5 bucks a gallon. There has got to be a good quality 100 octane gas out there, that is affordable, and that is good. Can anyone help me out?

Try looking in to Klotz's race gas. Not sure on the price though.

if you want qualty them run ultimate 2 or ultimate 4 [u2 for two strokes u4 for four strokes
but as far as price its 12.50 pr gallon
you just have to see what your bike runs best on

I pay $10.00 a gallon for the u2. the only difference between the u2 and u4 is the octane rating. u2 is 100, u4 is 92. you can use either in a four stroke or 2 stroke application depending on your octane needs. you can also run a significantly lower octane with oxygenated fuel.

VP C-12 is one of the best race fuels available. It burns real clean and leaves very little deposits. Worth the little bit extra to me anyways. Mix it 50:50 with 91 pump gas....comes out to 100.5 octane.

Race gas goes bad pretty quick, so buy what you can use in a 2 week period. Keep it sealed in a metal container.

ya it's up there !
but we run it cuse my blaster doesnt run through it very fast
i ran two 20 min motos started with half a tank and still had enough for 15 min of pratice !
PLUS it burns clean and its so clear that if you couldnt smell it (witch i dowt would EVER happen) you might think it was water there is no color to it at all. my personal fav but i live on the west coast also so different altudes might make it run different but it ran great in my dragbike in Vegas

:) I have run unical 76 110 octain,sunoco,vp racefuel,trick,erc,and ks racefuel.i like the 76,vp,and the sunoco fuels the best,what ever fuel you run do not stor it in clear fuel jugs, keep sealed up tight in an air tight fuel barrel. each time a fuel jug /barrel gets opened what they call light ends escapes which you will loose the octaine or the fuel and deffently shortens the life of the fuel. Circle tracl mag. did a big article on race fuel.keep it sealed tight and store in a dark place if possible.;)

Klotz is around $6 a gallon. They sell it at all of the GNCC races. They sell 100 or 113 octane for the same price.
