View Full Version : Steel or Aluminum Skid Plate?

Do you think it is a wise choice to get a steel engine skid and a-arm guards? They are really cheap on ebay right now but I don't know if the weight of the steel would be worth it. I probably wouldn't notice it anyway but I want to hear some opinions.

aluminum would be better...steel is too heavy plus it will eventually rust. aluminum wont

Steel:
will rust, is heavier
BUT it will slide over rocks and roots better then aluminum.


Aluminum:
wont rust, and is lights
Will "grab" more on the rocks and logs and stuff.


Anyone have those maier ones?
they should be light and still slide off stuff?
