Ok i have a '99 400ex have about 15 hours on topend rebuild which includes je416 11:1, hotcam stg.2, and mild port job. Under load plus light rpm it makes a loud clanking sound. I won't be able to tear the motor down till this weekend and hoping to race the gncc this month so i'm trying to get a idea on what this could be?-thanks

not picking on them, but if that was my engine thats the first place id dig into:(
its also possible for the valves to be so misadjusted that they are making alot of chatter, or worn timing chain.
i wish the best for ya:(
