Man some of these "deals" dont look like deals to me ;- )

My father always said, " Pay cahs for your toys" payments are for houses and wifes.

Five years of interest at 6.9% on $5000, you pay $928 in interest. Think about it.............Financing quads ( which depreciate in value, but your payments dont) is, well.........

foolish!

Sorry, didnt try to rile ya up,

Just pointing out some numbers for ya.

Saving and patience goes a long way.........

Mowing lawns, shoveling snow, trimming hedges, running E-bay auctions for non computer savvy people, taking old clothes to consignment shops, picking up rocks in farmers fields(seriously I got payed 5 bucks an hour for this when I was 15), washing windows for businesses or homes, etc etc = Good ways to make money for young adults.

Ingenuity + hard work + patience will always yield enough to buy a 6000$ quad.

p.s. Im no millionaire( im married ;) )

Trout,

Noticed your sig -

Bad decision to sell it, or get it in the first place.

BTW - 450R's are selling for $6000 out the door in this neck of the woods.

Don't let your dealer screw you into paying over retail. Get on Honda's website and do a dealer search to find others near by you.

If you have any desire to get a new quad, these new 450's remind me a lot of my Cannondale - only better in my opinion.

Had C-Dale not went out of business, they'd be in trouble right now unless they made some improvements.

We still have one.... Makes a great flattrack/TT quad.

Yes I have a burning desire to get another quad, thats why I have been poking around in here trying to get a feel for it agian.

I used to hang our at Cannondale riders alot, then sold the dale and sort of got out of it.
But like a bad habit it just crept back in, told the wife come spring im adding a third bay to the garage and filling it with a quad!

I most definately am considering the R, I love the looks, believe in the quality, and dont believe the negative hype.

My hold out is the Suzuki, If they throw a curve ball I want to see it. Hell, maybe I need both......"honey you need a quad?"

How's the throttle response compare to a Dale? I rode my buddies Cannibal with Blaze mapping last weekend, it was the first time I had rode a Dale and the throttle response and torque right off the bottom was awesome.

I think it's every bit as good - overall power I think is smoother (i.e. more power across the curve). It's been a little while since I rode my CDale, and I don't yet have much time on my 450R - but all in all - the 450 seems more powerful all around.

Here's a sound file (http://www.xcracing.com/gabe/450r.wav) - as you can hear, the 450 free revs every bit as fast as a CDale.

Is your cannondale stock? I felt that when i put exhaust and remapped the cannondale it made a big difference in power.

I had a stock Cannibal and we still have a Moto. More comparable to the Moto. The 450R is stock.

i paid a deposit for a 450r, am second on the list and the quad is in.

told them to give it to someone else, and i'd get mine in the spring.

right now they are charging top dollar for them. in 3 months you can go between different dealers and get a better deal.

we have too much snow to ride in michigan right now anyway, so i'll wait and save.

I got in in your neck of the woods. At Everett Powersport. Tehy were the cheapest place I could find. The cycle barn in Smokey Point wanted 8,000 for the bike alone.

Anyways, as far a payments go. I put down 3,400 (sold my wifes 250EX) and will be financing the rest. My payment are$102 for 48 months.

So what was the initial price?? With 3400 down you shouldn't of had to pay very much tax on the r. you should only be paying tax on the price after the $3400 is taken off. lets just say for easy numbers the inital price would have been $6500( where it sould have been for you) then your down payment of $3400= $3100 you should be financing+tile and reg fee. So lets say 6% tax... that would be around$60 per $1000 dollars which equals around $190 tax for what you would have paid. I am not going to sit down and do reverse math to find out what you paid(it was way to much) hope you didn't let them give you an OTD price with no downpayement and then have them subtract the $3400.

:( :(

Anyway jope you enjoy it!!:macho
