Looking for a PV cylinder. New or used, who's got what, and for how much?

It's going to be hard to find a used one, once people finally get them they want to keep em. I would say ESR would be the cheapest, about 1500 for a 265pv 1600 for 300 and bigger. ESR is good quality and look awesome, thats who i would probably go with. LRD is about the best you can get when it comes to R motors but you will be talking twice the money. If money isnt an issue i would give LRD a call.

Thanks, yea money is a concern. Mainly cause I could build an entire 310 motor for what a new PV cylinder would run. Not sure which would be better.
Do you need a special pipe for a PV cylinder? Obviously I'm new to the 250R thing.

No you wont need a special pipe, but a good pipe would be recommended. It just depends on what you want the motor to do. the power valve will be really smooth and make good power. the 310 or other big bores will just flat out rip *****. the power valve is about the ultimate motor for a 250r. But the biggest thing with a R is what you yourself wants it to do.

My current combo is ported to the nines. SUPER fast, but does nothing OFF the pipe. If i could have it all, I'de want the topend power I have now, but with a strong midrange to go along with it. I want to climb TECHNICAL hills OFF the pipe, so it hooks up, and is easy to ride. I also want the shear power of my current motor for the starts and long stretches. I race desert in CA. We have a mix of it all.

So you are ported for top-end? If/when you find a PV, I may be interesting in buying your ported cylinder off you. Let me know.

Yea, topend for sure. With the carb bored/flowed, and Procircuit pipe, it will outrun most 310's with ease. I've switched to an FMF pipe to pick up the mid, but it's not the same on top. I'll let ya know if I find something.

I have a used LRD PV 265. I'd recommend to get it re-bored, as I lost a crank seal and had some piston failure. I got a 450 R so I'm parting out the 250.

$950 shipped, I can get you some pics.
I can throw in the boyesen Rad valve for an extra $75

Currently ported by LRD for XC.
