Glen Helen hosted the 1st Round of the GNC ATV Nationals in Sunny California!

PRO Moto 1

#13 John Natalie Jr. grabbed the early lead on his East Coast ATV YFZ with #53 Kory Ellis in 2nd!

By the 1st turn, Natalie Jr was still out front, and #53 Kory Ellis(Outside), #4 Tim Farr(Middle), and #2 Jeremiah Jones (Inside) were all close behind battling for the 2nd spot.

Kory Ellis snuck pass Natalie Jr on the Outside and took the Lead!

Jones was running strong in 3rd and Tim Farr was in 4th

#4 Tim Farr & #12 Keith Little both passed #2 Jeremiah Jones, which dropped Jones back to 5th Place

Doug Gust passed Tim Farr to move into 5th Place, and Shane Hitt was also moving through the pack after passing Tavis Cain and also putting the pressure on Tim Farr! Dana Creech remained in 9th

Doug Gust was in usual form charging through the pack late in the race, and had moved up to 4th place by passing Keith Little

Keith Little dropped back to 5th after he hit a rock and lost his rear brakes bacause a bent brake rotor.

Shane Hitt made the pass on Tim Farr and moved into 6th!

Dana Creech was also putting the pressure on Tim Farr who had dropped back to 7th Place

Kory Ellis Railed the Turn before the Finish Line and went on to WIN and exciting Moto #1!

Pro Start!

Keith Little & Jeremiah Jones had a quads lengths lead heading down the stretch to the Big sweeping turn!

Kory Ellis managed to gain the lead after the sweeping turn with Keith Little close behind!

Half way through the first lap, Kory Ellis was still in the Lead!

#52 Dana Creech was up to third & #55 Doug Gust close behind in 4th!

#52 Dana Creech made the pass on Keith Little to shortly take over 2nd place! Soon after, Dana crashed in the Whoops section and he dislocated his Hip. He had to have it put back into place which is extremely painful, from what Keith Little explained to me. :( I hope he has a speedy recovery :(

Jeremiah Jones had moved up to 4th and was looking for a line to pass Doug Gust for 3rd!

Joe Byrd was in 7th, which was impressive since he had a hard crash the week before and fractured several ribs and had not rode until the Main Events.

Doug Gust made the pass on Keith Little and moved into 2nd Place!

Jeremiah Jones shortly afterwards also passed the the fatiqued Keith Little and moved into 3rd. Keith Little was sick in the stomache on Sunday, which prevented him from performing at 100%, but he still held his own.

Meanwhile, Tim Farr apparently had throttle cable issues on the back side of the track and was no where to the seen, and John Natalie Jr charged his way from 13th all the way up to 5th place after passing Shane Hitt

Doug Gust pulled within Striking distance of Kory Ellis in the Lead!

Shortly afterwards, Doug Gust made the pass to take the Lead with only a few laps to go!

Keith Little continued in 4th, but John Natalie Jr was quickly closing in!

John Natalie Jr was on Fire, and luckily for the leaders he didn't have a great start!

Shane Hitt continued his run in 6th!

#11 Doug Eichner was also on a 450R and was looking great for a man that was old enough to be the father of some of the racers!

I spoke with Eichner today! He informed me he just got this trx450r on Monday and got it asssembled with the aftermarket parts by mid Week. It actually was a completely stock engine that he was running.

#32 Matt White eventually made the pass on Joe Haavisto #75 and moved into 15th

#4 Tim Farr dropped back to 18th and was just coasting to the finish after he ran into throttle cable problems, but I am not 100% sure that this is accurate!

The Checkered Flag came out and Doug Gust sprinted too a Second Moto Win on his Suzuki LTZ400!

Kory Ellis was the Overall Winner with a first Moto Win and second Moto 2nd Place finish! Doug Gust was 2nd with 4th Place finish in Moto 1 and a Second Moto Win! Jeremiah Jones rounded out the top three with 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

Some Top Pros unfortunately didn't qualify for the Main Event because of the overwhelming amount of Pro Entries.

#14 Jeremy Schell was one of them :( He ran into numerous problems during the qualifiers and just missed making the Main!

#29 Corry Adock, EXriders.com 400grl, put on impressive show on her Banshee which isn't the most MX friendly atv to race. She finished 4th both Motos and 4th Overall :D

I can't wait to see how she does when her YFZ450 comes in!

Brittany Bloodworth only managed to finish 7th after having bad wreck earlier in the day. She mangled her 400EX up pretty good, but still managed to compete in both motos. I have seen her run before and she can hold her own, so I hope she gets to race another GNC this year!
