I thought I had read somewhere on here that some one had put a 400ex axle on their 450r and it worked fine, does any body know if this is true? I was lookin at my stock 450r axle and the lock nut and sprocket hub look similer, but i dont know if they could have different number of splines. If some one could clairify this for me it would help alot!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

i pulled the axle on my 450 to compare it to a stock 400ex and i found the sproket hub offset is quite different. the rest of the axle is very similar. it wouldnt just be a matter of adding a few spacers to make it work, you would need a different sprocket hub.

RPM said it's the same axle, BUT they have to press a different hub onto it. Whether or not the 400EX axle works without tearing something up I don't know.
