exatcly what it sounds like , if just puts less strain on the starter or something or cuts the compression idk , just use it who cares lol

it leans up the fuel mixture when the thing gets hot..it helps it start easier... because these big bore four strokes are hell to start when they get real hot .. so thats why its there its to keep you from kicking your leg off

My friend has the yfz450 and he kept having problems with his plug fouling, even tho it was jetted properly(twice), does this hot start help to reduce the problem of gunking up your plug????

yes, it will reduce chances of flooding (which gunks up the plug), and it does the opposite of flooding (which is leaning it out) It actually cleans off the plug to some extent.

No it will not help plug fouling. It is only used when you start it then it turns off. Unless you are fowling it when starting it won't help your jetting at all. All it does is lean out the mixture a little for better hot starting. Just like the choke helps for cold starting.

Ever heard of a CHOKE?

The hotstart is the opposite of a choke.

When it si cold you use the choke to richen the fuel mixture to help the engine start.

When it is hot (the engine) you use the anti-choke(hot start) to lean out the fuel mixture, to help the engine start.
