Well of course I'm gonna say go with houser,,never heard of gibson,,,houser products are used today and stand up to everything,,they've made a name for themselves.

call Terry at marcums,,I beleive he can get houser stuff at a good price..if you do go with houser INC. not a distributer tell them you found them on the internet and wanted to place an order thru the internet,,,you'll get %6 off all products..

I have a Gibson a-arms on the way for my R, along with Axis triple rate shocks. I know the guy who designed them, and said they were excellent(so did k andk).(one thing i didnt know was that on the r- you need to use 400ex spindles for NO bumpsteer, but the a-arms will work with the 250r spindles to) Ill tell all about them when i get them.

Right now i'd say houser, but that's because i've never seen the gibson in person. i've seen pics on the net, and they sure do look different. But houser longtravel is sweet, i saw a quad at the dunes with it and it was sweet. go for it.

too bad about the lobo stuff. hope you have luck with all your other stuff.

Gibson long travle with Triple rate, compression adj. axis is 2275.00

In my mind i have no doubt that gibson is top notch. It is going to handle better than houser because it has ZER0 BUMBSTEER. However the gibson will cost 200 more than the houser. If your anything less than a pro rider the housers will suit you find. John Houser puts out a awesome product that really isnt far behind the gibson.

1100, HOLY ****. that's some mad cash. but you will get them right away, and that's what you wanted, call and see if you can get houser right away, and if not, get the gibson. it looks cool...and i get it handle good too.

02-27-2002, 04:37 PM
well, ill let ya know. i just ordered a set from k&k. i have a set of houser right now and the only complaint i have is ground clearance.....they tend to hang up in ruts easily. im going to take off the houser and try the gibson......so ill be selling one or the other in the very near future! ill report back when i get them in!

I would say Houser too. Their Products are Great. I would only run Laeger, Houser, or Roll Design (Who Wouldn`t) on my 400EX. What kind of Shocks are you going to get?

WarriorMan, so you wouldnt run Walsh products? I condsider Walsh the best.

- And if the gibson are 1100 defently go with the houser Long Travel. The difference acant be worth 300.

I was recently at K&K and if you want a really heavy duty a-arm then I would go with Gibson's. I didn't know that they were that expensive but once again, if you want a nice heavy duty a-arm??? Gibson's are the way to go!! Depend on what color your quad is, the blue ones are sharp!!!! Haven't seen the red though.

i should have my gibson frame for my R here today, ill let you guys know what i think.

03-01-2002, 09:58 AM
i got an unfinished pair of gibsons...so i can send them out for a chrome treatment. the housers work well as far as the suspension goes, but they do lack alittle in the ground clearance dept. they are well worth the money. 2 things to consider 1-i gusseted the frame at the shock mounting position due to the increased stress of the set up. 2- the houser set up really requires a steering damper to eliminate the added bumpsteer from the lengthen a-arms.

03-01-2002, 10:21 AM
How does the gibson setup,,,eliminate bump steer??????????

I CALLED EAST COAST ATV, THEY TOLD ME IT HAS TO DO WITH THE THICKNESS OF THE TUBING AND WHERE THE PRESSUE IS PLACED, THIS ONLY WORKS WITH THESE A-ARMS AND 400EX SPINDLES, I ASKED IF I WOULD NEED A DAMPNER, HE SAID NOT AT ALL, MAKES ME WONDER IF TO GET HOUSER WITH A DAMPNER OR THOSE ARMS

yea kandk told me that it uses 120wall tubing which is very thick, the frame is supposed to weigh 54lbs., the lonestar baja frame weighs 49lbs. and the roll weighs 56lbs.
also the 2 tubes that run from the swingarm pivot to the front bumper are one peice on each side.

If any of you guys need any walsh stuff know a way to directly get it. My friend is good friends with Mike Walsh. He is getting his frame for his r. Right now he has walsh +3 arms and a swingarm. They look really gooe. The only problem with walsh is he changes his design ideas to much. One year he will have a design for a rms and the next year they are different. I hve seen three different designs so far.

Its a good thing that walsh is always changing designs. It means hes finding out what works best.

It sounds like Gibson is going to be really good. I would never pay that much for A-Arms though. Walsh is good too. I just can`t believe how much he charges. I would just spend the Extra Money and buy a Laeger T-Pin Front End. If you guys have the Money, Gibson, Walsh, or Roll Design is the Way to Go.

Yah man Walsh stuff is the Shiznitt. His A-arms will runm you $950 . But he has probably the best looking a-arms on the market.

Also there was a interview with Dave Diver, and he said the Walsh handles about 10 times better than anyone else, and the Roll is probably just as good,he said then Laeger's came next.

950? My friend has a shop and has a brand new pair for 825

Dave400ex
03-02-2002, 07:12 PM
$825 is still Expensive for some Bent Metal. I would buy Walsh before I bought Gibson since Walsh is cheaper and is proven.

James- Our friend has Walsh tt aarms they are cheaper than the MX version. They go for 875 new. But i think brad used them once or twice.
