Help with buying a 400ex

First I want to introduce myself to the forums. I'm Christopher a 20 year old Florida native and have been riding atvs most of my life. My first was a 1987 Honda 125.

Second I have been out of the riding scene since I broke my leg 2 years ago but I have come across a nice bike that I'm seriously considering. It is a 2000 400EX 100% stock. The seller is an old friend of mine who barely took the bike out and now wants to sell it. He is asking $3,000 firm. What do you guys think about the price? Do you have any suggestions for me if do get it?

That sounds good. If you know the guy and know how the thing has been taken care of $3000 is not really that bad.

I was thinking its not a super deal but fair. I'm just looking for a real reliable quad nothing extreme. I really don't want to break my leg again I just want to do some trail riding with my friends and lil bro. I figure this bike is pretty quik and reliable so it suits me well.

i went to cocoa beach last fall & fell in love with that place...the waves are like the perefect size for boogie boaring at the time i was there...not too big & not to small. :blah:

c'mon wizo i broke my femur too and it hasnt slowed me down! i broke it 1st weekend in november and im riding again. i am riding a yz125 and a modded R:devil: :macho

are you sure he even rode that thing,im trying to look for a dirt mark and i cant find nethin....that is a steal in that good of a condition if you can get him down to 2500,that thing is like brand friggin new:eek2:

I give you mad props.. I broke mine Oct 2001 and went to rehab 3 days a week for 5 1/2 months before I could even walk. I pretty much mangled my leg :( .

same here. my thigh was bent 4 ways when the medics came to get me..............i had therapy about the same lentgh...........only thing is now my hip pops outta socket in cold weather...other than that i am in tip top shape................i could have gone riding in janurary but the doc said no cause i would shatter the rod if i wiped out less than 1/2 as bad:eek2: but props ur still riding man! just its no fun going through metal detectors:(
