What does it mean when your shock heat up and FADES. Does your shocks bottom more when the oil in them get hot?

Yes, fade is when the shock oil heats up and comprimises it's ability to control the shock. Shocks will bottom easier when they are hot. I used to have works w/o rezzies, and they would heat up too quickly for my kind of riding. During races I would be bottoming hard on the last laps of the race whereas I wouldn't bottom at all on the previous laps. THese shocks failed last august and after 5 months of saving money I just got works with rezzies. The difference is night and day. They didn't fade at all even after hours of hard riding. After repeated jumps and riding hard I felt the shcok bodies, they weren't even hot. The real test will be the riding in 90-100 degree weather during the summer though. Bottom line, if you're thinking of getting shocks get rezzies!!!
