i finally gave in to the temptation to buy a fiddy. since i couldn't justify shelling out the big bucks for a XR/CRF50, and someone kinda nearby (ok, 50 miles away) was selling a older Z, i decided to kick it old school.

it's an '84 Z50. stock, and it's missing a air filter and wiring harness. the triple clamp was in rough shape, and the weak welds that were on it before hand snapped when i took it off the Grand Cherokee. so i have to replace that too. i have a set of handlebars laying around from a mongoose bmx bike, so when i get a new triple clamp i'll throw those on there. oh yeah, i paid 250 for it. it also has an '02 motor

edit: i just wanted to add that this was the first dirtbike i ever rode (my uncle also has an '84, all original, original owner too..i rode his one day about 7-8 years ago), so it has some centimental value too.

thats what i learned to ride on, xr 50s are faster, lighter and handle better but there all fun

Cool, I had a 84 z50r too. I got mine for $250 but that was back in 1989.

I dont think its a bad deal, I sold mine 2 years later for 300.
