does anyone make a alum. subframe for a 400ex?
or will alum. not hold up?

i work as a alum. welder what i was wondering if the alum. subframes will hold up i may try making some if anyone would be interested in them.

Yes they will hold up, Every aftermarket frame company makes them. Let us all know how much they will be and also post a few pics of them when you are done. If it is now less than $150, you probably will not sell many. I think you can buy a Lonestar that is chromed for like 300. Hope this helped.

id buy one if the price is reasonable,,, for one we dont for sure how long theyll last ....but lonestars are 300 plus 200 for chrome

ok tks guys for the replys i probably start on one this weekend ill keep yall informed.

ill have to make a jig so that they will remain straight so that will take sometime.also i think i can build and sell them for around $100.ill let yall know when i get 1 fixed.again tks for the info guys.

1 more thing i think i should make them with a removable grab bar. what do yall think?

YES!! make a mount to where they will accpet a AC racing 250r 86-87 or 88-89 grabar .....that way we can buy our own grabars , and less work for you..

do you know if the subframes will be stronger than stock...i am assumong theyll be lighter? thanks
also post some pics whenever you get one done

Yes make it fit a 250r grab bar. They should have designed the 400ex with a removable grab bar in the first place.
