I am getting ready to put a new front end on my 300ex and I have a few questions. I have decided to ditch the 250r a arms/custom Works setup.

I will be running stock wheel offset with the 400ex lenght Elka's w/SSD and a shock mount bracket.

Would +2+1 a arms be best for trails or +3+1?

Also what axle width would be best? I am running a stock axle for now with wheel spacers.

Please help. I am going to be ordering very soon!:D

I'd let it go for $275. The shocks are like new.

Go with the +2 +1 setup, this is the same setup that Dave Macarroll runs and it is awesome!!! He runs an RPM axle.

Thanks Jeff. That is exactly who I'm modeling my suspension after. What width does he use on the axle?

Also, Jeff, could you PM me a price on some basic Elka's w/ssd and +2+1 a arms?

Thanks
Scott

He uses the RPM adjustable and runs it at the narrowest setting which makes it match the front perfectly.

Thanks Jeff. That 300ex is the sweetest I've seen. It looks like I may have to shop around with the price on the LSR arms. LOL I was thinking about Burgards also.

You guys really need to cosider selling that shock mount too. It looks like a great design.:eek2: :macho

Jeff,
With the shock angle now changed, did you have to stiffen the shocks up any? With the shocks standing more straight up and down, it will soften the shocks some.

They were built with those deminsions so we didn't have to change anything. If your gonna use a set that was setup for a 400ex then you would need revalve and respring them.

jeff correct me if im wrong but are those 300ex a-arms and your running 400ex shocks with the shock mount, what size a-arms are those and are those standard length elkas?

Correct, LSR +2 +1 300ex arms, standard length 400ex shocks custom built for this setup and custom upper shock mount.

so if i get burgard 2+1 a-arms,and the shock mount etc,i can just get elka, axis, etc standard length shocks and run them for my weight riding style,or should i get +1 shocks?

No, you will need to tell the builder exactly what you are doing. They have setup sheets for custom applications that you will need to fill out.

Hey I have been talking with Bradley300 on his set up and it looks like you and I are on the same track again, just to pass info along. +2+1 with stock or 4+1 wheels are the best for trails , the ssd's are the best. Looking to get my swing arm +1 too. This should be an awsome set up for trails.;)

ya man thats koo, maybe we can help each other out,im looking for a crazy XC setup and i think i have found it,now the next hard part is talking my dad into this, idk might have to pull a "oopss, dad i crashed into a tree and wrecked my shocks, and a-arms,i need new ones" kind of deal,it won't matter to me becuase it is my own money,i would never do that if i didnt have the money though:blah: .I'm thinking this will run me good into the 1000 dollar range give or take a few bones
