i am thinking about going higher i have a 11:1 ..i am putting in my stroker crank now and since it has a heavy duty rod i am thinking of going high. i believe xr's only told me they have a 13.5:1 for me if i want it. i will be running race gas and i am gonna install heavy duty head studs. would i be better off running 12.5 to 1 or 13.5

If you already got the rod-I'd go with the 13.5. The higher you go-the mo power you gonna make. And if you got all the necessary upgrades, go big.:blah:

just make sure you install the heavy duty studs. make sure you keep it maintained too, that is a lot of compression

No use putting in all that work without going high comp. as well. You will NOT be disappointed.

maintance ain't a problem.. i cahange the oil after each race and adjust valves once a month. i am more worried about exploding cases, studs, and head gaskets. i belive powroll said that the stroker crank i will be running will raise compression .5:1 also so with a 13.5:1 it would be more like 14:1... i dunno..i hope the race gas will be high enough .

Ditto. Just like what the others said too, make sure you slap it all together really well. Dont short cut anything.

Let us know how it works for ya!!

Same thing I was thinking.

Sonds like are mototrs are going to be pretty similar. I figure if you have all the heavy duty stuff you might as well go big.

i would stick with the 12.5:1 and with the rod be at 13:1 u dont wanna lose reliability and 13:1 is a lot. ull be pleased with either
