would a 400ex swingarm fit on a 300ex? If not, what would I do to raise the hieght of the rear end to be equal with the 400 conversion in the front?

I"m almost positive the 400ex arm wouldn't fit on a 300ex,,next option is to buy a longer aftermarket arm or get a different shock with more adjustments for the rear.

Leager makes swingarms for a 300EX. As for a long travel swingarm I think you need to get a new frame along with the swingarm. I have a Leager +3'' swingarm and a Works Ultracross rear shock on my 300ex, and have done some big jumps and never came close to bottoming out the rear. Hope this helps.

I have a Laeger +2" long travel swingarm and dual-rate long travel custom AXIS shock setup for MX on my 250X. Swingarm costs $572, shock costs $925. Well worth the 12" of rear wheel travel that I now have. I also have a Laeger ProTrax/Custom AXIS long travel front end on my quad.
